The Local Subaru Meets Series showcases some of the Subaru meets running all across America. Hawaii knows how to represent! I talk to Joseph (subydude), owner of subydude.com and talk about a meet he recently attended in Oahu (Minor editing was done by me.)!

1) Could you give a brief description of yourself?
My name is Joseph, aka subydude. subydude was conceived early one morning… trying to sell some JDM bugeye STi lights we bought for a WRX that i have yet to buy. I’m just an enthusiast like everyone else… just a little older now! … i’ve always been into cars. i went to school studied chemical engineering… was in the nuclear field for a few years… did the dot com then… but when i bought that WRX… it was over… I WAS HOOKED… i turned a hobby into a small business… but to me, its not just a business… its a lifestyle. we love wheels, nice pictures… and more wheels!

2) Description of the meet? What do you guys do?
Well if you are referring to the meet in hawaii… I really just wanted to meet suby folks… i pretty much try to do that where ever I go. suby folks are good people.

but in general… suby meets i’ve been to have one purpose… chill… hang out… grab some food. recently i’ve caught the Digital Photography Bug, so i take pix, if i’m not passing out shirts or calenders!

3) How did it come about? Is this meet a one-time thing or is it recurring?
The Hawaii meet was a one time thing (at least for me). For for the locals I think they all meet up every Friday. I think if I was traveling alone, I wouldn’t mind doing it every week. but w/ 3 kids…we’ll see u in 3 years!

It was 10 years ago since i was in Oahu… that place has changed!

4) Any memorable rides?
Well there was that Legacy w/ the weird paint job! There was the blue bugeye w/ the Rota Subzero Wheels on it. There was an 04 WRB STi w/ super aggressive offset. i believe it was 18×8.5 e30. damn! (*Editor’s Note* Sweeeet!)

5) Favorite part(s) of the meet?
I think meeting nice people is always cool. I gave away some shirts just to show some suby love. i didn’t go there to promote anything. Meeting everyone was great! I’m sure I’ll be keeping in touch w/ I’ve met.

6) Any shout outs?
Shout out to the all the hotties at the mai tai bar (different night, but so what! …)

Shout out to brandon, jon, walter who were HELLA nice… helpful… you guys better keep in touch… I’m on face book…. subydude. ADD me!

To all the people that showed up to the meet, that don’t usually go… hope u find a reason to go back cuz they were all very nice…
