Stuff Subie Freaks Like #1: Friendly Gestures to Other Subie Freaks on the Road

This is a nice little touch to your day if I can say so myself (especially if it given from a cutie from the opposite sex…or same sex…whatever floats your boat LOL)! Subaru enthusiast will usually give a wave or some other friendly gestures (”friendly” being relative, lol) to other Subaru owners who may possibly be as Subie Freaky as themselves. What is it that makes us want to “say hi” to a random stranger? Is it because we feel some kind of auto connection? Maybe because you’re glad someone else has some good taste! Nah…it’s just a secret society we have, lol.

From my early experiences, I wouldn’t get a wave…Maybe it was due to me not being proactive and waiting on the other person to initiate it, so I tried coming out of my shell. I remember my first time, just a random guy in a MY06-MY07 black STi…I initiated by driving in parallel to his ride and flashing the universal “Hello” wave…and he reciprocated, awesome! I don’t know why, but from then on, I would occasionally get a wave or friendly gesture even if I didn’t start it.

I’m sure this probably happens to other car brands or even just car enthusiasts in general….but I’d like to think there’s a little something special in us Subie Freaks….I just can’t pinpoint on it. Oh and by the way…Kt So, the cutie by the STi at the top (also my favorite import model), she’s a Subaru owner herself (drives a 05 STi)! Be sure to give her a wave, and another one for me!

I can pin point it… its the sound.. you can hear a boxer motor 5 miles away.. your immediately looking for it.. Subaru has always been a loyal and dedicated group further more its a pretty low key group as well. We tend to be owned by the right kind of person mainly due to our price tag, there are exceptions of course , but you can def. see the difference in the civic community compared to the subie.
I don think of anytime ive passed another subie (other than the 80 old woman in the outback lol or tribeca) and a gesture hasnt been made, hell i can remember on two occasions where we were on oppisite sides of the road and have to come to a stop to chase the other one down. I Love the subie community and will never be apprt of another! True Subie Freak for life!
oh yea and just to make an offical note there is nothing sexier than a girl in a STi black and pink.. and shes knows how to drive it. I keep an extra pair of boxers in the trunk just for that.. and for some odd reason my car starts shooting royal purple all over the place when we come up on her.
