A great thread started by smurfwrx has been recently posted on NASIOC on things that we have all learned from working on our Subaru’s. Various members have contributed, and I’m sure we all can relate to some of the things said! Here’s a couple mentioned :

1. busted knuckles build character
2. have another car handy on install days. You’ll be going to the store at least once
3. Neighbors do not own metric ANYTHING!!!!
4. when your wife asks you how long today’s project will take, multiply your original figure by 3. That’s how long it actually takes
5. the intercooler is WAY easier to get OFF than back ON
6. do not attempt to install engine mounts 30 minutes after you get home from work. That ish is HOT, dumb-ass!
7. have a small child install your aforementioned engine mounts. Their hands will actually FIT!
8. after working under the car and having enough dirt to fill up a jar landing directly in your eyeballs, your sight actually WILL come back….eventually.
9. needing your car to get to work the next day helps installs move right along without procrastination
10. there are NO “extra” parts!!!
11. When in doubt, cuss, anaylze, drink beer, cuss some more, and VOILA!

LOL…so true. What else have you all learned from your time on working with your Subaru? (To see the whole NASIOC thread, click here.)
